“Feast of Sharing” is a partnership ministry with St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria. Each year on Thanksgiving Day our two churches work together to provide an act of unconditional love through the serving of a hot Thanksgiving meal for anyone and everyone who needs it. Members of each church cook at least 35 large turkeys and pans of dressing. Both church’s kitchens also work overtime preparing massive amounts of cooked vegitables and mashed potatoes. Youth groups package bread into individual serving sizes. And pies are prepared and packaged into single serve containers. The preparations are awesome but not as awesome as the volunteers. Ultimately, many tables are stacked high with prepackaged meals, and then the lines form and it is all given away. In 2012 about 1,400 people were fed a hot meal with the touch of God’s love.
