Greetings Church!
My name is Matt Ratliff. I am so thrilled that Bishop Schnase has called me to serve as your pastor in La Feria and I can hardly wait to join you in ministry.
I am coming to you all from Austin where I am currently wrapping up a Master of Divinity degree at Austin Seminary and have been serving as a Licensed Local Pastor to Haynie Chapel UMC. I also have a bachelor’s degree in music. Before seminary I was serving as the assistant director of music and worship at First United Methodist Church in Kerrville.
I was born in east Texas and grew up in western North Carolina, where most of my folks now live. When I’m not working I love to sing and read, camp and hike (when it’s not too hot), hang out with my crazy dog, and enjoy taking in concerts and other live entertainment.
I’ve been praying for y’all since before I knew who you were. I hope you will join me in prayer that God will prepare the soil for seeds and prepare our hearts for sowing. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and am excited to see what harvest we might reap from the ministry we will grow together.
